RE: RV'ing music

Carl,
I like/have all your choices....I have more Boz, can't get enough of him or Three Dog Night.... You need some "It's a Beautiful Day" to round it off.... Or "Quick Silver Messenger Service", or Dave Mason...I could go on...I have a 60g. iPod..Full..
Take Care,
Jim

North Tx. to Cabot,AR., Camping recommendations?

Well, we sold the house outside of DFW Airport and will be moving to Cabot, AR. (25 minutes north of Little Rock). It's ~400 miles. We are leaving here on Tues (7-22) and the movers will be there on 7/23. What is a nice, easy access campground a little more than half way? There is nothing around Cabot for camping. And the drop off could be delayed a day or so. That being said, we could spend a day or two there.
Thanks for your help,
Jim

I just want to share......

This is the only board I am posting this news on, well, it's the one where I really feel "close" to everyone..
Last Thur. our daughter-in-law gave birth to their first child and our first grand-baby, a healthy girl. Mother and daughter are healthy and doing fine. God, she is cute...Our son is in the Air Force stationed at Little Rock AFB, we have sold our house in Texas and will be moving to Cabot,AR. to be close to them and help out. My wife wants to babysit and we can help out when he goes TDY for a month or so..... We will be living about 10 minutes from their house, we should be set up by the end of July...
The house we bought has a large enough backyard to house our RV, just another plus....And they like to camp..

RE: RV'ing music

What make driving and sitting at the camp site better than good music? I know a beer. \
The iPod was a "god send" for us, I have a 60g that is loaded with music from the late 60's and early 70', CSN&Y, The Who, I could go on but you get the idea. I have the iPod connected to our radio and speaker system in the MH. I have ~140g of MP3's and never run out.
Gotta love it..

RE: Advice on Class C Tire Care

I had these same questions about a month ago. I spray the tires with 303 and bought tire covers. I had the "hair line" cracks, un-even in the center. I don't think I'm going to replace the tires, not sure it is necessary, only 4K miles on the unit..

RE: Do these really work? Fridgecool

So, I can turn the coach batteries on, start the frig.(on gas) then turn the coach batteries off? The problem is, it's in storage with no way for me to plug it in the day before..
Thanks,
Jim

RE: Do these really work? Fridgecool

My question, we are getting ready to take a long trip and I want the frig to be cold before we leave, up to this point we get the unit in the AM turn the frig on and leave the food, etc. in the cooler until we stop at night so it is cold. Now, do you the night before turn the gas and frig on? Do you need to turn the coach batteries on, or is just the gas button on the frig enough? We are new to all this...

RE: 5 most important things to bring with ya

Ya know I really love these lists...
I really can relate to this one:
1.) My sense of humor and the ability to laugh at my own stupidity.
Everything else is just stuff.
I go for ATF, Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms, my wife brings the chips..;)
I only hope to bring and take back good times with friends....

Is a Broadband card the way to go?

We are getting ready to hit the road for a few months. I'm guessing that a Broadband card is a "must". Are there any good deals out there? I'm retired GTE/Verizon and get a 20% discount from them, but there may be a better deal than Verizon..
Thanks,
Jim

RE: Full time for 3 months, what problems?

Thanks again to everyone, I'll check everything out...This was a "quick decision" that we hope works out. We close on our house here on July 21st and our first "Grandbaby", is due next Thurs., so we will be in Arkansas for that and I'll see what we can find out..Looks like an exciting few months coming up..

Thanks for all the advice, I kind of thought we could just "Look around" for 3 months and maintain the Texas plates....
But, I will check more into it..

Full time for 3 months, what problems?

We just sold our house in Texas and will be buying a house in Arkansas outside of Little Rock to be close to our son, his wife and our first Grandbaby that is due next week.
We will be done here in about 45 days, we are going to leave our cars at our son's house and the furniture in storage. Now, we are going to have all our mail sent to our son's house and will have our laptop with a broadband card to pay bills etc... Now do we need to register our cars in AR. to our son's address or what do we have to do? We just don't know, this was a "quick" decision, to go on the road for 3 months..
Thanks,
Jim

RE: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & Gizmos

Bob,
I'm with you on that one. When we lived in Fla. many years ago we were going to Disney Campgrounds and the "Love Bugs" were thick, so I sprayed the front of our truck with Pam.....It took weeks to get off, the stuff baked on in the sun..
